Walityk sends your conversions to the LinkedIn Conversions API. The twist: LinkedIn works with conversion rules — each Walityk event type is routed to a rule created in Campaign Manager.
Takes 10 minutes.
Prerequisites
- A LinkedIn Campaign Manager account.
- An OAuth token with the
rw_conversionsscope (via the LinkedIn developer portal or your existing integration).
1. Create the conversion rules on the LinkedIn side
- Campaign Manager → Analyze → Conversions → Create conversion, source “Conversions API”.
- Create one rule per goal: purchase, lead, sign-up… Note each rule’s ID (numeric, e.g.
104, or the full URNurn:lla:llaPartnerConversion:104).
2. Configure the destination
- Walityk dashboard → Destinations → your site → LinkedIn Conversions API card.
- Paste the Access Token.
- Fill in the rule ID for each type: Purchase, Lead, Sign-up — at least one.
- Optional — custom events: map the name of a custom event from your tracking plan (e.g.
newsletter_signup) to a conversion rule. The custom rule is resolved before standard types. - Save.
3. Verify
- Destinations → your site → LinkedIn: delivery log.
- On the LinkedIn side: Campaign Manager → the conversion rule shows received events (a few hours of latency is possible).
Good to know
- No signal = no send. LinkedIn can only match a conversion to a member with an identifier: SHA-256 hashed email or LinkedIn click. An event without any signal isn’t forwarded (shown as “skipped” in the log). Enable Walityk email matching to maximize coverage.
- Only events mapped to a rule are sent — a type without a rule ID is skipped, by design.
- Emails are always transmitted hashed, never in clear text.
Common errors
- HTTP 401/403: token expired or missing the
rw_conversionsscope → regenerate it. - HTTP 404: rule ID not found — check the ID in Campaign Manager (and the right ad account).
